Mark your ball on the putting green. Failure to do so results in a TWO STROKE PENALTY on the person putting if your ball is hit. Your ball is then replaced to its original position. If your ball hits the flag as it lays on the green, that is also a 2 stroke penalty. Proper position for marking is directly behind the ball. Rules & Etiquette, Sue Warner
